Final Fantasy VI tech demo.

So this is where those 3d images of Final Fantasy 6 I saw in a GamePro years ago came from. "This demo is technology research for real-time 3DCG, use a Silicon Graphics workstation" straight from superdodonpa64, who also provided this cool video. All these years and I thought this was the Final Fantasy game that was going to come out for the Nintendo 64. Boy, was I wrong.

I see a lot elements in this video were used for future Final Fantasy games, such as summoning creatures.

Master Gamer 7: Castlevania 3- Dracula's Curse.

I never played this game before, so there isn't much I can comment on but I know Jean-François Durocher (aka. Genisto) spent some serious time mastering this game. In Castlevania 3, you played as Trevor Belmount (I think that is correct) and joined forces with Alucard or Sypha in the game. This video features the Alucard route. Thanks to taipion for the footage.

Snes review: Contra 3-The Alien Wars. Master Gamer volume 6.

Contra 3-The Alien Wars (Super Nintendo) My rating: S

A top action game (Even to this day) and one of the best Snes games out there, Contra 3 is clearly a fantastic title. What makes Contra 3 an instant classic is the gameplay. It's spewing with excellent action sequences that never get old or dull. In one stage, you fight off enemies while riding on hoverbikes, then grab onto a helicopter's missile in which is fire towards an enemy battle ship, with you still on it!! Ridiculous moments like is what makes this game so darn good. The only flaws I found from this game is the one hit kills (A bummer in all Contra games) and it's length, only six stages are in the whole game. The levels are big with lots of baddies to shoot but it won't take long to figure each enemies pattern. Overall, this game is must play, must have game that any gamer will enjoy. Play that Contra music right boy!!

Where I can get this game?

For the Super Nintendo version, check here and for the GameBoy Advance version, click here

Master Gamer 6

Truly excellent work Phil Côté and Jean-François Durocher (aka. Genisto). Both of these guys beat Contra 3 on the hardest difficulty in 13:40, without dying once. Contra 3 is extremely tough on it's hardest level but these guys just make everything look easy. Once again, these are 'classic console games being played extraordinarily, using an emulator as a tool to overcome human limitations such as skill and reflex.' Thanks to taipion for the footage.

Spider-man 3 teaser trailer.

Doing what a spidey can!! A new teaser trailer for Spider-man 3 has surface and I must say, May 4, 2007 will be marked on my calander as national web-swinger day.

The man of steel returns today.

Unless you been living in a cave for the past week, you know today is the official return of everyone's favorite boy in blue.

Superman Returns is finally here and I couldn't be more thrilled. You can tell I decorated my site for the occassion. With X-men 3 living up to most of my expectations, I'm confident this flick is going to rock, even though some critics may disagree. Check out the Yahoo reviews to see how the movie is stacking with the media but I rather hear from what you guys think.

SegaSonic the Hedgehog: A lost gem.

Wow!! I didn't think anyone had gameplay footage for this game but I'm glad nnyknife77 does. I consider this game to be the rarest of all Sonic games because it only came out in Japanese arcades (to my knowledge because I never saw it here in the states). Playing as either Sonic, Mighty the Armadillo, or Ray the flying squirrel, you navigate through the game using a trackball and one button for jumping.

(The sound for this video is horrible. Don't worry about turning up your speakers, it won't help.)

I have to admit that I'm impress with this game. It's much better than I thought it would be. The game features great animation, frantic action that always keeps you on your toes, and one thing I've always wanted in a Sonic game, a health bar. Here's to hoping that Sega imports this game in another Sonic collection.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Whoa, the last time I posted (Besides earlier today) was on Tuesday. (In my best Conan O' Brian impression) "don't worry my babies, Papa hasn't gone anywhere." So just the heck have I've been doing?

To start things off, I was met with a shocker on Tuesday night. I downloaded this video editing program on to my computer. I was going to use it to make my videos (Which I'll divulge on in a minute) to look better but I wasn't impress with it and decided to delete it. That is when the shocker kick in, as the program not only deleted itself but all my documents too. All my music, videos, pictures, text (including my reviews) and everything else in my documents folder gone. It was most unpleasant because not only was all my files gone but I have to RE-WRITE every review I had. Although this was an unwelcome surprise, I wasn't mad. I originally was going to install the program in my hard drive and if I did that, well, that would have made me angry. Plus, I needed to get rid a ton of music on my PC anyway. Bottom line, do NOT install this program. It flat out sucks.

On a lighter note, Let me show what I've been working on for the past week.

GamerC custom wallpaper. Always on the look out for cool wallpaper, I've decided to make my own gallery of them. I took this image from IGN comics. Just to note, I make each of my wallpaper to fit the size of my screen. This image is 1024x768, the setting for my monitor size. Some may be bit off (I have few that are 1024x733 or 1020x765 and such) but I'll do my best to make each one look fantastic. If anyone wants a custom wallpaper made for them for a specific size (such as 800x600 or 1280x1024) email me at gcsumbit@yahoo.com or comment below. I'll have some more up shortly.

Lastly, I'll be posting video footage along with my reviews shortly. I've always heard that screenshots don't do a game justice but footage does. Well, expect to see footage for Mortal Kombat 2&3, Hyper Street Fighter 2 turbo, N.A.R.C, Sonic CD, Resident Evil 4 and many more games. I'm trying to offer at least one video for each game I review because seeing an image isn't as good as seening real gameplay.

Master Gamer Volume 5: Streets of Rage

Holy crap!! That is all I can I say for this master gamer Gavin Ward (aka Sprint God.) This person completes Streets of Rage on the hardest difficulty in 29:95, without taking any damage!! I have a hard enough time beating SOR but not receiving a single hit? That is freaking extraordinarily!! Props to taipion for the great content.

Although this doesn't take away his master gaming skills, these are (Straight from taipion) "classic console games being played extraordinarily, using an emulator as a tool to overcome human limitations such as skill and reflex."

Installing MUGEN.

Following up on the MUGEN story I did a few weeks ago (Click here to view it.) I've been receiving some questions about help reinstalling it or downloading mine version since they don't know how add extra characters. To clear some things up, I don't have MUGEN on my PC, I've never played it (Just seen videos of it), and never installed it myself. I'm sorry I cannot help in that way but I will tell you where and how to get it because I'm a nice guy :)

One more thing, although I'm providing info on how to obtain MUGEN, you're responsible for everything downloaded. Please don't blame me if something goes wrong or doesn't work. I'm just the messenger.

1st) Go to this site and go to the section labeled 'Latest localized WinRAR beta versions'. Download whatever one is your native language (For me it would be English.) and install it once it finishes.

2nd) Go to this site and download the first choice 'No limit winmugen patch' (1.749kb) Once downloaded, extract it and MUGEN should be playable once you open it.

Question: How do I make the screen bigger?

Answer: Go into the data folder and find the configuration (Config) for winmugen. Open the file in notepad (Right click on the file and highlight 'open with' and click on Notepad.) If you open it with wordpad, MS Word, Works or any other text editing program, you'll mess it up when saving and winmugen won't work. This is a really big file with lots of words, so you'll probably miss what your looking for. Go to the top of the screen and click edit and look for the tab labeled 'Find' and click it. Type in 'videowin' and click 'find next' and it should take you straight to what you're looking for. Once there, look at the width and height of vidmugen (Currently set at 320x240.) Change it to whatever you desire (I suggest 800x600 or 800 width and 600 height.) After you're finish with that, look below and you'll find a sentence reading "Set this parameter to 0 if you want to disable screen stretching or set to 1 if you want it you to scale in the current resolution." It may not be word for word but close to it. I suggest setting it to 1 but if you don't want the screen to stretch, leave it alone. After that, save it and see your results.

Alrighty, I hope that helps everyone looking for their own version of MUGEN. All my info came from this video so all the credit goes to him.

I'm not done yet (And most likely neither are you.) I have here some more info I looked up. This site haves all the info about installing MUGEN, characters, stages, music, and much more. If you don't feel like reading anymore text, click on this video to watch how to install stages and music (But not characters.)

MacOS X users, don't feel left out. I found this article on how to install MUGEN on your systems. I hope it helps.

Nude WOW video, Mario Numa Numa song, Deadly Street Fighter combos and more gamer videos.

I didn't know I had all these gamers videos in my favorites (Time for some spring cleaning.) Here below are some intriguing content.

Mario Mia He Mia
Remember the Numa Numa song awhile back? Well, this guy made a version of the lip-singing song using Super Mario World sprites. This is by far my favorite version of it.

Nude WOW patch video
It amazes me how huge and popular WOW (World of Warcraft) is. With over five million gamers playing online, it wouldn't take long before hackers released unofficial patches. Take a look at the nude patch that came out about a year ago. Is it wrong to pleasure yourself to WOW females? By the way, the song in this video is really annoying.

Angry Gamer
I love watching angry gamers because they can get into the game so much that it makes them look childish when the erupt (WARNING:LANGUAGE.)

The last clip is a footage of deadly Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo combos. My jaw drop to the floor after seeing some of these combos actually connecting. Props to bon1387 for the awesome content.

The end of Batman Beyond Fridays.

Sorry guys but there'll be no more Batman Beyond Fridays. The kind folks on YouTube who were providing the episodes had to remove them do to copyright infrigement. I had a feeling this was going to happen but I wanted to show all the episodes I had before they were removed. I had some really good ones, such as the episode when Terry joined up with the new JLA and Superman was discovered to be a murderer. Oh well, you can buy episodes of Batman Beyond right here. Trust me, the show is really good.

The lessons of Preacher-Teacher.

Finding a soul mate is hard. Correction, finding ANY MATE is difficult, especially if your gamer (It can be hard to choose between the newest Zelda game or a night with your sweetie.) Some well rounded advice is always a welcome and Jessica Chobot is here to help. Preacher-Teacher are weekly installments in which people (Mostly guys and gamers) ask Jessica questions about various relationship issues (What do I need to better myself or how to get this girl to like me and etc.) Its a really good read and the latest volume is up now. Click here to read Ms. IGN's helpful advice.

Sega Genesis review: Streets of Rage

Streets Of Rage (Sega Genesis) My rating: A

Final Fight pretty much set the standard for beat-em ups but SOR improved upon it by offering more skill, more technique, and a killer soundtrack ahead of it's time. In SOR, you play as either Adam, Blaze, or Axel with a mission to stop Mr.X and his gangsters from terrorizing their city. They fight their way through eight stages and believe me, they rock!! First starting off in the streets, The game offers exciting beatdowns through a beach, a cruise boat, and my personal favorite, a rising elevator where you can throw your enemies off.

Before I go any further, I have to comment on how fantastic SOR music is. There is a reason why Yuzo Koshiro name is on the title. Each song matches perfectly with each stage setting. When you're not busting heads, check out the game's BGM for some excellent tunes. Heck, I'll go as far to say that the music makes the game.

Another point to SOR is the complex maneuver list. While you still have the standard punch-kick combos, Axel, Adam, and Blaze can attack from behind, can perform team combos (Such as a somersault throw), can grab an enemy from behind and suplex them, and can still attack even when left defenseless. One maneuver the gang is lacking is an attack that hits all the enemies that surround them (A point for Final Fight.) Instead, the characters can call for a police backup who will shoot a deadly blast from his rocket launcher. Very cool indeed.

Difficulty wise, this game is pretty tough. The enemies get tougher in the later stages and the game will send larger waves of baddies at you. The bosses can be challenging, especially the bosses of stage 4 and 5. Those two can take all your extra men and continues if you're not careful. The game is best played with two players but be warned, you'll receive double the enemies and bosses (Except for the stage 5 boss right here) than single play.

Another cool feature is the multiple game ending. The final boss, Mr.X, will ask you a question to join his group. Depending on your answer will affect the game's ending. What is more interesting is if you're playing with another player and if he/she chooses yes and you choose no, Both of you have to fight against each other until the other is defeated. What are friends for if you have power?

While Final Fight is an excellent brawler, SOR adds everything missing to it to make it a much more complete product. Without a doubt, a must have for Genesis collectors.

Where can I find this game?

Right here

George Bush insults Daredevil, AOL losing customers, Goldeneye recreation and other great content.

A lot of great content has been showing up Break.com lately. Lets watch shall we?

George Bush insults Matt Murdock
George Bush was at a press conference recently and took shots at a reporter for wearing shades while addressing him. Mr. President didn't know though that the man was actually blind. Not the funniest Bush moment but still amusing. He has apologized since the incident but come on, doesn't he looked like Matt Murdock/Daredevil?

AOL more annoying than before
Wow!! Remind me to never get AOL. This guy tries to cancel his AOL account but the customer service guy is acting like Dr. Phil and trying to find why he wants to cancel? Who cares why, the guy just doesn't want it anymore. Its that simple.

The new "i-Pod"
Mad TV is 10x times funnier than SNL, there, I said it (I feel like David Spade now.) Anyhoo, check out the newest "i-Pod" from Apple. Ladies, I think you'll love it!!

Lego Holy Grail
I've never seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Shame on me I know) but found this clip very well produced. It's the Holy Grail song from Monty Python done in Legos. Good show I say.

GoldenEye homage
This brings backs excellent memories!! Big props to these guys acting out a stage in GoldenEye for the Nintendo 64. What I love the most is how they act just like the characters, responding to certain shots and movements. If you never played, go right here and buy it now!! Believe me, the game is that good.

Why I'll never compete in a DDR tournament
This kid just turn five years old and already can compete against some of the big dogs of DDR gaming. He's one reason why I don't play dancing games in public. I'll never play this kid for money, unless it's Street Fighter or Halo or something of not moving.

Master Gamer 4
It was a hard pick between DDR youngling or this guy but this amazes me a tad bit more because of his fast hand movements. I don't know the name of this game but whatever it is, he is a master at it. I bet he spent $100 of dollars mastering this game.

Blu-Ray Movies? Check. Blu-Ray player? Not until August.

I didn't realize this until reading this Yahoo article but Blu-Ray movies are coming out next week (Click here) yet Blu-Ray players aren't coming anytime soon. The tentative release date is August but no one knows for sure (Except for Sony and it's partners) when it is coming out yet the disc movies will be available next week!! Sorry for the exclamations marks but I find this amusing. The next wave of DVD format will be ready next week but the players won't be complete for another couple of months? Why don't Sony just push back selling Blu-Ray movies until the players are ready?

You can reserve your Blu-Ray player right here at Best Buy. The price for it is $999 dollars or you can wait until the PS3 come out this November.

Sonic CD mania.

Hehe, I'm still thrilled about my first video that I made two more. This version includes the original Sonic CD soundtrack and features the bad ending versions of the game.

My other Sonic CD video is the opening to the game featuring the opening theme to Trigun. Click here to view it. Also, this Sonic CD video by Sonic24601 is becoming a favorite of mine. The song fits very well for it.

Best Buy taking PS3 games pre-orders. Final Fantasy VII?!

(Images courtesy of GamePro and IGN.)

Right off taking Wii game pre-orders, Best Buy is now offering Playstation 3 game pre-orders. Click here to see the game list. Most shocking on the list is Final Fantasy VII, a game that Square-Enix hasn't officially announce working on. This is starting to raise some eyebrows. Does Best Buy have the knowledge of Square remaking their classic RPG? Personally, I think it is a misprint but I wouldn't rule it out yet. Retailers such as Best Buy can have some information that game sites don't know. Pre-ordering is basically taking a head count of how many folks are going to buy games or consoles from their store, so game companies may give them info that isn't release to the press yet. This is my theory so I wouldn't be surprise to see if Final Fantasy VII does make on to the PS3 (But don't hold your breath.)

Tekken 6 and Devil May Cry 4 are on the list too. If either one makes it this fall, I'll be opted to buy a PS3 this fall.

Sonic CD opening, good ending, and pencil work.

Alright!! Here is my first YouTube video and game footage. I edit the opening, good ending, and pencil drawing of Sonic CD. I'm trying to create my own game footage and here is my first piece of work.

By the way, Sonic CD is one of my all time favorite games. I'm still wishing for a sequel.

PC vs Mac, Granny Gamer, and Paris video. Vid's I've been watching.

I would like to post each one of these videos on my site but that Would make things V.E.R.Y S.L.O.W (And probably cause an error.) So here are the links to the interesting stuff I've been watching.

PC vs MAC part one
PC vs MAC part two
Paris Hilton video
Granny Gamer

Why I must play golf now.

Here is how to make your starting work week even better guys.

eBay findings.

I've been doing some eBay searching and discovered some great gaming bids. I found a brand new Neo Geo CD console. I would love to get this but I know darn well this puppy is going to get up in price. I pray for low bids on it. I'd found two good Sega Dreamcast deals. The first one right here isn't bad, especially since it comes with 8 new games. The problem is (Besides the $24.50 shipping) that only 4 of those games catch my attention. If I buy this lot, I would probably keep all the games, knowing that I couldn't sell very well. The other deal (And the one I'll probably bid on) is this one. All I need is the system and this is not a bad price in my opinion. Also, I found some Snes game deals. Check here for a brand new copy of F-Zero and check here for a new copy of Killer Instinct.

This post won't be for long since some of these deals end a day or two.

Xtreme Volleyball: The greatest sport ever?

So this is what Team Ninja is currently working on? Hmm, not bad at all guys.

I think I can safely say that we all saw a sequel for this coming. Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 is aiming to be 'bigger' than the first one, with more 'features' such as jet ski racing (Ala Wave Race style.) The first Xtreme game received mixed reviews from critics. The beautiful graphics and voluptuous women came second to the game play. To be honest, games like this don't have strong game mechanics because, well, they have trailers like these to make up for it. This isn't a bad thing, if you know what your getting.

I picked up Xtreme Volleyball yesterday (Sorry, I can't pass up Kasumi in a bikini) and I plan to offer my impressions soon.

Nintendo Wii games demo trailer.

Me likey this trailer!! This is game footage of upcoming Wii games. Believe me, the games look impressive. Check out BestBuy.com for more Wii info.

Call of Duty 2 tournament.

BestBuy is hosting a Call of Duty 2 tournament and the prize is a 2006 Jeep Wrangler. Dang it!!! I wish I had Xbox Live!! And a Xbox 360!!

Click here to enter. Best of luck to everyone, as I know the competition is going to get furious.

Bestbuy is taking Wii pre-orders.

BestBuy.com is offering pre-orders for Wii games Red Steel, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. They have each game listed for $49.99, which is cheaper than the $59.99 Xbox 360 games and most likely PS3 games. You can click here for pre-ordering the games and can check out BestBuy's Wii page over here. Honestly, I thought the Wii games would sell around $39.99 but $49 bucks isn't bad at all. I'm shock to see Smash Bros. Brawl listed for release this year because I thought Nintendo was going to push it back. Please BestBuy, be right!! But Mario Galaxy will do just fine.

GamePro caption contest.

GamePro.com has a new weekly contest going on and I like it. Click here to enter. Each week, the GP editors will provide a screenshot and you have to come up with a good caption for it. The winner will win a prize and this week's prize is a Razor Diamondback gaming mouse, which looks sweet. The rules are on the site but just in case you miss them...

Plastic action deals.

I've been on the lookout for some great action figure/toy deals and I've found some pretty good deals for some reasonable prices. I thought I would share them with my plastic action buddies.

Marvel Legends: Spider-man fearsome foes gift pack
Original Price: $29.95
What most people are selling it for: $49.99-$69.99
Best deal I found for it: $19.99
Where can I get for that price?!: Right here

I wanted to get my hands on this deal first before posting it but it's best to share a great deal like this. The Marvel Legends figures are huge sellers and, such as with many figures of the series, the gift packs are highly sought out merchandise because their out of print. This Spider-man fearsome foes gift pack can cost up to $50+ on most toy sites and Amazon.com selling it for a mere $20.00 bucks ($25.00 if you count shipping) is an incredible deal.

BATMAN: The Dark Knight Returns Action Figures and Deluxe Book Gift Set
Original Price: $14.95 for each figure, $24.95 for the hardcover book.
What most people are charging: $20+ for each figure, $20+ for the book.
Best deal I found: $79.95 for all the figures and book.
Where can get this?: Right here

I know this may not be the best deal out there but given the price these figures and book go for, I think its worth it in the long run. Batman: The Dark Knight Returns is one of the best graphic novels I've ever read. I think it's a must have for any comic reading fan, even if you never read a Batman comic in your life. Getting the figures and the book all in one is a perfect gift for any Batman fans.

Superman Returns poster and symbol.

The official Superman Returns site have some interesting stuff, including this awesome Superman Returns poster (Actually, this one from IGN.)

But the site has the New Superman symbol for downloading and I must say, it looks sweet.

Check out the the new Superman site for more pictures and full length trailer. Make sure you have your flash player up to date because the site won't let enter without it.

Playstation 3 controller: Wireless but rumbleless.

It seems the PS3 controller won't have any rumble to it's motion sensors. According to GamePro, the Dualshock 3 won't support any vibration because it would interfere with the motion-sensing function with the controller, causing unwanted game play actions. While I understand the reasoning for this, I find it a bit strange. Nintendo's Wii controller will feature both motion sensors and rumble (Plus a mini microphone) so I don't see why Sony can't do the same either?

Many suspect the real reason for no vibration is Sony's battle with Immersion. Back in 2002, Immersion filed a lawsuit against Sony and MS for using their rumble design (Without permission I would assume.) MS settle (Smart move) but Sony decided to fight it in court and lost to Immersion (Not the best move by them.) That result could be the reason for no rumble but, intriguing enough, folks from Immersion have stated that Sony could add a vibration to the controller. So my question is now, what is the big deal Sony? Go ahead and add some rumble before the third-party companies do.

Summer wishlist part 2.

Xbox 360 premium console

Summer is a great time for gamers to catch up with their unfinished games or set out to buy the newest consoles. Since there isn't a lot games coming out in the next few weeks, now is the perfect time to get an Xbox 360 and play all the games available now before the rush of excellent holiday titles come out. The shortage is no longer an issue folks and console problems seem to be less frequent than before. I can't wait until I get my hands on this bad boy and I suggest to anyone thinking about getting one, go ahead. The Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3 will be out this holiday and both are sure to cost a good penny for games, controllers and etc. If you want a 360 and have some money saved up, buy it now and save up some more cash for the next consoles. In my opinion, it'll be cheaper in the long run. Here are some online sites I found some good 360 deals on.

Wal*Mart
Circuit City

Nintendo DS Lite.

Give props to Nintendo for making one fantastic handheld. The DS has a strong line-up of great games out and its keeps on getting better and better. With a smaller, slicker version coming out next week (Actually, some stores already have for availability), the DS is quickly becoming numero uno in the handheld market. Check out the difference of the original system to the newer one right here.

Master Gamers Volume#3: Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 is arguably the best 2d fighter game on the market. Over five years old, this game popularity is still the same as it was the first day it released. I'm a big fan of the Marvel verus series because there isn't a game out that plays like these games (A shock to me) and because I like Street Fighter and Marvel. While I've played MVC2 to death on my Dreamcast, My skills come nothing close to the guys on this video.

Gun...DAMN, that is a lot figures.

Anyone that knows me knows I love collecting action figures. I'm always on the lookout for more toys to add to my growing collection. One thing that always amazes me (And gives me inspiration to keep on collecting) is seeing other folks large toy libary. Rice Burner from bikinigamer.com has posted pics of his giant toy collection here and it's definitely worth a look. I thought I had a lot of Gundams but I'm most certainly wrong. Most impressive!!

The new Break.com

Break.com has updated their site, offering a brand new look to things. Personally, I like it a lot. It is a major improvement over the original. You can check it here and see all the latest videos and pictures.

Super Nintendo game reviews: Super Castlevania IV

Super Castlevania IV (Snes version) Grade: S

The first Castlevania game I played is also one of the best of the series. A remake of the first Castlevania for the NES, this game exceeds with fantastic graphics, a killer soundtrack, responsive controls, and game play that is purely fun. Playing as Simon Belmont, you whip through 10+ stages of Dracula's castle; fighting off skeletons, Medusa, dragons, Frankenstein, and death itself until reaching the prince of darkness.

But as mention before, it’s the easy to use controls and addicting game play that makes this title shine. You’re able to attack the enemies in 8 directions with Simon's whip (a first for the series) because they’ll be attacking Simon from all different directions. The Snes controller is very responsive and makes it a breeze to dodge the deadly booby traps and counter attack.

The game plays similar to the older Castlevania games so Symphony of Night and GBA/DS fans beware; this game has NOTHING in common to those games. There is no leveling up, backtracking, or magic attacks Simon can use. It’s straight forward whipping and jumping.

Overall, I think this is one of the finest action games I've played. If you own a Super Nintendo, I recommend this game as a must have.

I think you’ll like this game if you enjoy the following
- Love action side-scroll games
- A fan of classic Castlevania game play.
- Prefer straight forward action than large levels in which you return later in the game (i.e. the Castlevania games of today).

I don't think you will like this game if the following annoys you...
- You can not use items, equip armor, or level up.
- Simon can’t run or learn any new abilities.
- Spikes kill you instantly and stages include a decent amount of bottomless pits.

About the Japanese Famicom version
I haven’t played this game on the Japanese Super Nintendo but I've read that it includes blood, naked statues and paintings that were removed for the American audience. One particular level is stage 8; the underground dungeon has blood that drips from the ceilings while our version has acid.

Where to find this game
Check here for some decent prices of this game.

I don't have a SNES but want to play this game
I have a good feeling this game will be available on the Nintendo's Wii virtual console but I'm just guessing.

Master Gamer volume 7

Here is a tool-assisted speed run of Super Castlevania IV for the Super Nintendo. Phil Cote and Genisto beat this game in 31:16. A highly impressive feat because this is difficult to do speed run for. There are a few things that catch me off guard. One is how they're able to hold Simon's whip in a straight diagonal way without it falling to the ground. The second is how fast their able to whip a boss to death. Many hours must have went into getting this terrific time. This video can be seen on Game Theater or by andyg9991 on YouTube.

The power of M.U.G.E.N.

I've seen a fair share of homemade games but I don't think any of them compare to the impressive M.U.G.E.N games. Click here to read more info about this intriguing game engine developed by Elecbtye. The program allows you to create your own characters, stages, backgrounds, and music using the same engine found in most 2d fighting games. Such sites as this one use the engine to create their own version of DC vs Marvel and I must say, it looks very good.

Impressive indeed. Those images look similar to a Capcom fighting game but are custom made from the MUGEN system. A friend of mine's wants me to download the program and I'm interested to do so (I wouldn't mind playing the game above or Marvel vs Capcom 3.) About legal issues using this, Capcom has been stated saying they consider this a fanart work and have no problems with it but the creator of this program, Elecbtye, has lost the license usage for this and it seems they're not going to retrieve it back. Technically, this is illegal but I don't its really a big deal. I'll post up an article on how and where to download MUGEN and install it shortly.

Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer impressions.

This past E3 Konami released a new Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer to showcase the numero uno reason to buy a Playstation 3. Thanks to neondemon for the great content.

WOW!! Solid Snake is now an old man, Ocelot is still kicking around, and Raiden now looks like a total bad ass.

The trailer has revealed some interesting facts about the game. It seems the game is going to take place on an actual battle field, so sneaking will even be harder than Snake Eater. The enemies even seem more armed and prepared, especially with the transforming metal gears (Those should be fun to fight.) It also seems that a large cast of former metal gear characters are going to be in the game, with Meryl still retaining her funky hairdo. The big questions I have are will Snake commit suicide to finish off his punishment? What is this MEME? Why does his face in the end looks so wither?

Of course, all these questions will be answered once I play the game but there is nothing wrong speculating. I honestly think this game will be worth a PS3 purchase but this game won't be out until sometime 2007, meaning the PS3 is missing another key launch title this fall. But with a game looking this well so far, It'll be best to wait for the finish product.

Sega Saturn reviews: Street Fighter Alpha 2.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 (Sega Saturn) My rating: A

Looking for an near perfect, arcade version of Street Fighter Alpha 2? Then get your hands on the Sega Saturn version because it comes mighty close to the stand up cabinet. Only the 5-8 second load times between fights keeps this from being a perfect conversion.
Gamplay wise, this game is similar to the first one but Alpha 2 adds a new (And use it correctly, deadly) counter system and a custom combo gauge, which allows you to connect multiply combos together (Flashy but sometimes pointless since you do less damage.) The character line up has increased with Dan, Akuma, and Bison (Hidden characters in the first one) now playable along with new comers Sakura, Rolento, Gen, and returning classics Zangief and awesome Dhalsim (A nickname I've heard most of my life.) The soundtrack is a plus, offering up some excellent versions of Ryu and Ken theme's and the sound effects are right on, especially Gen's victory saying "You are big fool!"

The Sega Saturn controller is spot on too. It took awhile for me to get use to it (I play a majority of my fighting games on the Dreamcast and Playstation) but once I did, it was smooth fighter sailing. The computer A.I. is quite balanced, not dirty cheap found in the older versions (cough*Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo*cough.) Overall, if you have a Sega Saturn and you're looking for an excellent fighter, getting this game is a no brainier.

What if I don't have a Sega Saturn but want this game?
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology is coming out for the Playstation 2 later this month and it includes all the Alpha games plus Pocket Fighter (Now called Super Gem Fighter Minimix.) Click here to pre-order the game. Honestly, I suggest getting this version over the saturn version.

About the Playstation version.
I haven't played the Playstation version of Alpha 2 but I would assume it is just like the Saturn version but has longer load times.

About the Super Nintendo version.
Yep, Alpha 2 did come out for the Super Nintendo. The game isn't near the quality of the Saturn version but nevertheless, it's pretty good. This version of Alpha 2 has the longest load times and a lot of downgraded features (Sound, animation and etc) but I think gamers will be surprise how well it does hold up. Also a big surprise is how rare this game is, receiving some high prices on eBay.

Where to find this game.
Check here for some decent pricing of this game.
